I have to admit upfront, that racing games are not my first choice in gaming. I'm far more likely to take up a role playing or first person shooter option, but, I wanted to give this a chance and overall I found it to be entertaining but difficult to enter into any sense of progression to where I'd want to keep coming back for more.

My sons, who like racing games, found the experience average and didn't compare it strongly against other games that they have played.

So all I can say is that it's fun in small doses.

Can't decide whether to buy Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 or Fifa 2010 on Wii? Comparing the 2010 PES and Fifa versions for Wii leaves little to argument: if you're looking for an authentic soccer experience, PES is far superior.

Read other Amazon reviews and you readily discern that Fifa has tried something new by opting for a kiddy, arcade feel. It's as if an ignoramus in Nintendo's or EA Sports' boardroom ordered the programmers to alter a tried and true formula. The result? Like altering a long-standing Thanksgiving tradition, EA has, by analogy, brought a tofu "turkey" to dinner, and long time Fifa fans will be drastically disappointed with EA's miserable product (though young gamers may like the simple play).

Aiming to please the casual Wii sports fan, EA revamped Fifa graphics, options, and gameplay--but all for the worse. Some may think the graphics an improvement as character faces are more life-like than ever, but objectively the players look much like an out of proportioned Quasimodo. As regarding the game's options, Fifa fans will be irate that, when playing a season, there is no option to change from 2 minutes halves. Fifa's game play also suffers from such unbearable new "features" as the shooting slow-mo (The game goes into slow-mo nearly every time a shot is made.) and the corner/free-kick green ball. (You might be letting in 3 free kicks per game on the higher levels.). Fifa did significantly correct one astonishing oversight from Fifa 2009: they assigned different buttons for ground and air passes, whereas last year's version only had one button for both passes, leaving the 2009 game unplayable except with the Gamecube controller. (Fifa 2009 with the GameCube controller is a far superior game than the newer version.)

How does PES compare? My ideal Wii football game is one that takes advantage of the Wii's point to the screen abilities, allows you to play accurate/realistic passes, challenges you with life-like computer AI, and allows you to develop a team/players over a season. PES 2010 on Wii excels in all these areas, and once you read the below tips to correct some of the ostensible errors, the true fan of the beautiful game will be loving PES 2010.

As with Fifa 2010, PES 2010 allows you to point to the screen to make a pass to any specific location. While both games still need to improve the accuracy of through balls and balls over the top (In both games you will occasionally find yourself passing to the feet/chest of a teammates instead of in front of the teammate.), it is much easier to intentionally play a pass in front of the receptor in PES than in Fifa. (If you cannot figure out how to make a long, air pass in PES 2010, know the instructions in the booklet are wrong: to play a long, air pass, double tap B in rapid succession.) The brilliantly refined invention in PES 2010 is the point and drag a teammate option which allows you to make off-the-balls runs in any direction. In other words, with the control stick you can run the ball handler in one direction, while pointing and dragging a teammate to make a run in completely the opposite direction. As a result, I can finally make "el Chino" David Silva cut outside with the ball and play the perfect through pass to inside cutting "el Guage" Villa who is perfectly on-side.) At first the controls, dribbling and zone marking on defense, will seem overly complicated--and perhaps not suitable to the casual gamer or gamers under age 10--but be patient, play a season, and the wonderful instructional videos will have you executing the inspired moves within a week. (For instance, for eternity, football games have only allowed you to play give-and-go passes where the "goer" runs straight down the field. Utilizing the Wii's capacities, PES 2010 allows give-and-go passes in any direction.) As for the AI, PES 2010 is really the first football game I have ever played where the computer, on the advanced settings, does not try to dribble down the center of the field, but rather plays the ball around the field: tic-y, tac-y. Regarding options, though PES lacks the licenses on some Premiership teams and does not carry second division teams in any of the European leagues, you can play a full season with Champions League, compete in just the Champions League, dispute a country cup with any major European/South American club or national team, or create your own team--even with Mii characters. PES also features a menu in multiple-languages, as well as commentary in multiple-languages: English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese. Board games are one of the greatest family group activities of modern times. Getting the board out, finding the pieces, rembering all the rules, deciding who sits where and goes when, and finally to end up with someone quiting over a dice roll that slid off the board. Cheap Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues

I feel cheated by this latest addition of Lego game. Indiana Jones 2 is not at all like it's predecessor on the PSP. The beautiful eye-popping backgrounds are missing, and in their place are lackluster ones with minimal appeal. Funny video cutting-scenes have devolved to unappealing static images with plain text to fill in the story. Other than severe visual downgrade, character animation suffer from stiffness and repetition. The game mechanics is reduced further with unresponsive control to add frustration on top of disappointment. Lastly the challenging puzzle element that made the previous title fun is absolutely nonexistent. Buying Hasbro Classic Game Collection

I have old versions of Monopoly and Risk (originally for Windows 98) and I've kept them working up through XP, but it was time to upgrade. My review is a little mixed because there is A LOT missing from this version of Risk that was in my older version. There were two different ways to play the game and a lot options for different play within each game, whereas this has just one very basic version. It is fine, and it is the version closes to the board game, but I really liked some of the alternative versions better. So I'm disappointed in Risk and not playing it much.

The two versions of Monopoly, on the the other hand, are great. I really enjoy them and they have even more features than my old computer version. Plus, I like the updated Here and Now Monopoly version even better than the regular because it has new properties and more realistic prices. (Monopoly was due for an update...can't buy property for a couple thousand dollars anymore!)

While I mark it down for the fact that this version of Risk is a disappointment, I give it four stars because I really enjoy the Monopoly, and because the prices is very affordable for four classic games. I've bought madden since they first came around back in the early 90s. Recent years, I commited to only buying a copy if my team wins the superbowl... and what do ya know... BOOM! Grats Steelers. Previous to that I've been playing Madden 2006 on the Wii.

From 2006 to 2009, I expected better graphics, and selection menus. This game is only a year old, and I feel that they could have gone a lot further in polishing up what they already had from the previous year. The reason I still give it a good rating is that it is still fun to play, and has that good fun factor of beating up your friends and their teams when they come over. We have played nearly every game on Game party 3 and so far have not had any problems with the controls. I had originally purchased the original Game Party when it had come out and found it enjoyable for what it is. These are nice games to sit down with friends and family and play together, the graphics aren't amazing but the game in itself is enjoyable, and this version has a lot included. I gave my original Game Party to a friend that really liked it since this edition has all of the games included from the other previous editions- which I think is a good value.
I am pretty certain that the publishers intent was not to win game of the year with this title, it is a family game, and it does that pretty well.
The youngest person to play this with us was ten, the oldest fifty-six and so far everyone has enjoyed it and been able to work the controls just fine.

I bought this game on a whim, and was totally surprised at how much fun the game is. We have fun playing two-player, and the action can be quite hillarious.

There are several things I like about this game:

(A) Getting into a game (or a tournament of games) is trivially easy, and unlike many other similar games, they don't make you wait for ever, nor do you have to navigate through a bunch of lame, tedious filler to get to the core of the fun.

(B) The games are fun. They are not earth-shattering, nor even unique. Some involve aiming, some timing, some about pressing button sequences quickly, some about how quickly you can jostle the controller. But the games are varied and fun, especially in competition with others. You can "free play" through the games, you can choose from small, medium or large tournaments (the large cycles through all of the available games).

(C) You can choose between 3 skill levels. All of the games are inherently 4 player, so the computer plays the empty slots, and the computer's competence is determined by the skill level you chose. While most of the games themselves are the same at the different skill settings (the computer players just get better), a few of the games get intrinsically harder based on the skill setting. I'm a hard-core, old-school arcade gamer, so I can still beat the computer in most of the games on the the hard level, only one or two are crazy-difficult on the hard skill level, while the easiest level lets everyone enjoy the game.

Here we have more RPG excellence from the company that helped define it with groundbreaking titles like Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age: Origins, and the older Baldur's Gate games. For those gamers out there who know and love Bioware games, this one will not disappoint you, particularly if you like science fiction and thought provoking types of games or movies.

Having gone over the positive aspects of this game, I should say that the flaws it has are pretty inconsequential. One of them is the DRM method. While this game does employ a method of DRM that can give a person quite a hassle, this can be avoided for those who dislike such invasive DRM measures (SecuROM, and similar DRM methods) by simply playing the Steam version of the game since that version doesn't include those invasive DRM programs.

The HDMI cable works flawlessly on a 1080p monitor. Very durable build.

The remote is not bluetooth, so you need to plug an adapter into one of the USB ports.
A USB hub with three ports is included in the pack, so it's not much of an issue. But I found it interesting that it did not come with the memory card reader as is the case with the individual unit. Snapped right onto my 80gb PS3.

The charge base is my favourite part of the pack. About the size of a stapler, all you have to do is plug a plastic adapter onto the controller's USB port and drop it in either of the slots on the charge base. (The controller's face should be facing the lights.) You can even keep the adapters on while playing. Two indicator lights let you know either of the controller's charge status. Green = fully charged/empty slot. Red = charging. I do feel that the lights are a little cheap-looking, but that's no problem. Oh, and a handy little power button on the opposite end of the charge base. Perfectly sized and easily depressed.

NHL 2K10 Get it now!

I have stuck with the NHL 2K series over the last few years because the $19.99 price tag is tough to beat. That being said, I was more than a little disappointed with the transition from 2K9 to 2K10. It is quite literally the exact same game. I know they rush these games out early, and updates are available on-line, but the rosters did a poor job of reflecting off-season signings & acquisitions. AI feels the same, controls are identical, announcers repeat most of the same repetitive one-liners from last season, visual appearance is the same, and I think the music took a step back. When I purchase any sports game, I do so with the hope that it will build upon the previous year, move forward, and add a few new features. I don't think that was really the case here. I was disappointed to see that EA abandoned the PS2 this season, so it looks like I'm stuck with a near carbon copy of last year's 2K until I upgrade to PS3 at some point. Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution Buy Now

It took a few minutes to get hooked on this turn based strategy game but after the initial break in it has become very addicting for myself, and my two children.It is not quite as educational regarding world history as I hoped (you do get to select a great ruler from a number of cultures to play as) but it does force you to think and develop a strategy (especially on the higher difficulties). I have not played the PC versions but it seems to work well with the X-box interface (plus, playing on the big screen is always nice). Wii Energizer Flat Panel 2x Induction Charger Right now

I've tried other rechargeable battery inserts to no avail. This one is great! It's easy to use and I've never had the batteries run out during game play yet. Save Dirt 2

I enjoyed the control and ralley like exerience that the first Dirt game presented. This game feels too much like an arcade game for me to take seriously. They stripped out a lot of the car set-up controls, and you have to now use the time trials modes to practice on different tracks. This is confusing because the event names don't line up with the course names. I just wish there was a simple practice option before each event, instead of having to guess what track the event will be run on.

The game has also lost a lot of its international flair, and has too many 'x-game' type events.

On the positive side, the graphics are very good, and the logic that controls the replays has been improved, and they are enjoyable to watch.Get more detail about Dirt 2.

Discount DS Lite Nerf Armor - Black/White

This has been on my sons ds lite for a year. Now I want to sell the DS Lite and I am trying to remove from the case.. I read this a long time ago and I see it it true. It is almost impossible to remove with doing damage to the DS itself or destroying the Nerf case. I will have to be cut off. Because of the I will lower my rating. My son DS lie has one of the rare pokemon special addition prints that I would like to show when selling so I don't a a single scratch on it. Now I can't offer the case in the sale because it has to be cut off. I will look for other protective casees in the future because of this.

Other wise I have seen several claims regarding this unit smelling. Sounds crazy. Case serves it's purpose.

******UPDATE. AFTER WRITING THIS REVIEW I WENT BACK TO TRYING TO REMOVE CASE. FOUND SITE WHERE A GUY DESCRIBES HOW HE DID IT. I TRIED HIS METHOD AND I JUST CRACKED THE TOP OF THE DS LITE. (not his fault) THE HINGE BROKE ON THE DS LITE RIGHT OFF IN MY HAND. IT IS RUINED! I will not buy another Nerf case again. NO MATTER WHAT. I do not recomemmend this product.
